Chef Tony Burger Dog Pan Inventor

When clients come to Davison, they come for inventing expertise and guidance backed by over 25 years of experience in helping everyday idea people hopefully bring their inventions to life.

As is with many new inventions, ideas are usually created as a solution to a common problem.

This continued to be true for one Tampa Bay, Florida mother who invented a unique baking pan that brings two all-American classics – hamburgers and hot dogs – together in a way that not only culminated into a new invention, but brings innovation to cooking and recipes.

This isn’t just any inventor story. This is the story of a Davison inventor who found a better way to combine two cookout favorites into one, in a healthier way.

For Davison client, Ingrid, the ingredients in hot dogs were particularly troubling. Though often a crowd favorite, Ingrid wanted to find a better way to make a healthier hot dog alternative.

After having been to many summer cookouts, Ingrid came up with an idea for a pan that would shape ground meat into the form of a hot dog. The pan would drain the grease during the cooking process and the final product would be a healthier alternative to a hot dog that would still preserve the convenient, easy-to-eat shape.

After being licensed to Love Cooking Company under their Chef Tony Notaro line of healthy cooking bakeware, Ingrid got to see and hold her final product in its packaging, with her idea turned invention all the more real.

Chef Tony Burger Dog Pan Inventor

If this isn’t exciting enough, Ingrid and her story were featured in a recent Tampa Bay Times’ article, which outlines the invention’s pending debut on QVC’s In the Kitchen with David and the hopes that Ingrid has for not only this invention, but also the “book full of inventions” that she’s been saving up for, in order to pursue.

Ingrid’s invention is reshaping the way that we make burgers. Now, the question remains, how can your invention potentially reshape and offer a better way to do something?

Start your quest for the answer and submit your invention idea today!

Mega Bacon Pan QVC - Davison Design and Development

In the invention industry, things change; they evolve.

This sentiment holds especially true for the Mega Bacon Pan, which evolved from our client Jean’s Meatball Baker.

Last month, the Mega Bacon Pan was featured on QVC’s “In the Kitchen with David.”

QVC host David Venable was intrigued and excited about the Davison-designed product! During the segment, Chef Tony showcased the possibilities with this innovative kitchen product, which included perfectly-cooked bacon, jerkies and even healthy chicken breasts!

The two-part pan with baking sheet and wire rack holds 18 slices of bacon and elevates each slice out of its own grease on a diagonal, so that the fats and oils can drain away for a crisp, flavorful piece of bacon!

“We say goodbye grease, hello flavor!” said Chef Tony, as he was showcasing the product to viewers across the country.

During the segment, both Chef Tony and David Venable showcased the perfectly-cooked bacon, which the pan allows to cook on its side.

While this sizzling news was exciting, this month, we want to use this QVC appearance as a lesson in confidence for those idea people who are working towards their invention dreams.

Chasing after your dreams requires discipline, knowledge and the courage to take the necessary steps in order to get you closer to your goals.

Whether you have an idea for a kitchen product or an idea for another category, think of how Jean’s belief in her idea brought her product to success and even evolved into other successful products!

We encourage you to use Jean as a source of inspiration and motivation along your journey as she is a great example of what can happen when you believe in your idea and work hard to hopefully see your product in the spotlight, too.

Are you ready to move forward with your idea? Submit today!

PushPerfect 8 Brownie Pan - QVC

In case you missed it last Wednesday, Davison client Bobby’s PushPan Brownie Pan was featured on the popular QVC segment, “Kitchen Unlimited with Carolyn.”

Bobby came to Davison with his idea for better brownies. His innovative pan would later be licensed to our friends at Love Cooking Company, who were also excited for this brownie innovation to debut on leading video and ecommerce retailer QVC!

It’s always exciting to see one of our products in the limelight!

While on the show, the product went by the name “PushPerfect 8” Brownie Pan with Slicing Grid” and was shown by longtime QVC guest host Marie Louise Ludwig, alongside host Carolyn Gracie.

This wasn’t Ludwig’s first time showing off a Davison-licensed product. In fact, she showcased the Pinata Nonstick Cupcake Pan last September.

PushPerfect 8 Brownie Pan - QVC

In last week’s segment, QVC host Carolyn Gracie and Ludwig both demonstrated the innovative PushPerfect 8” Brownie Pan and how it can be used to make just about anything.

For example, brownies with ganache on top or crispy cereal treats to satisfy any sweet tooth and some other savory options like pull-apart pepperoni cheese bread and cornbread are just a few delicious choices.

It didn’t take long for Gracie to proclaim that the PushPerfect 8” Brownie Pan had become one of her favorite baking pans!

The pan comes with its own slicing grid that can be used during or after baking.

“You get perfect squares every time!” said Ludwig, noting how you can leave the grid in during baking to make sure each square has a chewy edge.

“And, nobody fights because they got the bigger or the smaller pieces,” said Ludwig.

Now, thanks to the PushPerfect 8” Brownie Pan, baking just got a little bit easier!

You can get your very own PushPerfect 8” Brownie Pan on QVC.com for $27.50 right now. For a bite of inspiration, pick up yours to try a Davison client’s inventive idea today!

Earlier this month, we shared our SHOT Show recap and other exciting trade show news.

Since then, a lot of preparation, hard work, fun and excitement all come together as we kick our efforts into high gear to get ready for yet another trade show.

This weekend is the International Housewares Association’s International Home + Housewares Show in Chicago, Illinois. From March 5th – 8th, companies will be putting in the extra time and effort to showcase their latest and greatest products.

What better way to amp up the excitement into trade show weekend than by sharing the recent feedback of an excited client!

Our client, Jennifer, came to Davison with her idea for organizing and keeping outfits and matching accessories together. With her vision in mind, our friends at Inventionland created a two-sided saddle design with zipper mesh and dual clear pouches and a convenient carrying handle that fits perfectly over a hanger.

Hanger Pockets - Jokari Corporation

Jennifer’s invention was licensed by the Jokari Corporation and has already sold in stores like Bed Bath & Beyond!

Though Jennifer loved the original packaging on her product in stores, she was further elated to see updated packaging thanks to a major packaging makeover of Jokari’s entire line of products. And because of Jokari’s newly acquired license with Paula Deen, Jennifer’s Hanger Pockets will be packaged under a “Paula Deen Everyday” line with Jokari as well!

Hanger Pockets Redesign- Jokari Corporation

“Hello…just checking in to say hi and say how happy I am with the new Jokari packaging and especially for my Hanger Pockets! I am also head over heels that it is in the Paula Deen everyday line. I think she is wonderful and look up to her as a kind of mentor in my cooking and baking style ~ and have done so for years! I am thrilled…Inventors rock!” said Jennifer.

We’re thrilled, too! And Jokari isn’t the only company that will be touting products with the Davison “D.” In fact, Love Cooking Company will be showcasing some of the products that we’ve licensed with them as well!

If you’ll be in attendance at IHHS 2016, don’t forget to stop by the Jokari booth (S1805) and Love Cooking Company booth (S1705) to see these products on display!

If you can’t make it, don’t worry; we’ll be sharing plenty of updates in the upcoming weeks on the blog!

A few weeks ago, we shared the exciting news with you that the Piñata Cupcake Pan was on QVC. Well this time, we are stuffed with excitement again to share with you a creative costume that our friends over at Inventionland shared with us from their recent Halloween party!

Three of our creative Directors of New Products here at Davison channeled their innovative and inventive spirits to create a costume that won them the award for Best Group Costume.

Lara, Laurie Ann, and Katelynn went above and beyond to tie in their costumes to our company! As you can see in the picture below, the group dressed as a piñata + a cupcake + Peter PAN and the result was the Piñata Cupcake Pan – get it?

Pinata Cupcake Pan Halloween Costume

“We all had such a great time putting these three costumes together. We worked really hard on them during our lunch breaks throughout the week, leading up to the very last minute! Laurie Ann is so creative and is always thinking outside of the box! We couldn’t have done it without her! Katelynn came up with the idea initially and we just built on it from there. We were so excited to win and even if we didn’t win a thing, the look on Mr. D’s face was rewarding enough! “said Lara.

This sweet costume was inspired by the Mrs. Fields Bake N Stuff Cupcake pan, a product that our friends over at Inventionland designed for the Love Cooking Company. Before airing on QVC, this innovative baking product was repackaged as the Piñata Cupcake Pan!

Pinata Cupcake Pan Halloween Costume

“We had so much fun with our costumes! Katelynn and Lara were troopers working so hard during lunchtime with all of my bossiness. I agree with Lara that seeing the look on Mr. Davison’s face was priceless. The hardest part was maneuvering around in a giant cupcake,” said Laurie Ann.

Just like the Piñata Cupcake Pan made an impression on QVC viewers, so too did this costume on the judges!

“This is the third Halloween party that I’ve attended to date at Inventionland and I must admit this year was the best! Laurie Ann is so creative in the way she put together the concept of the ‘Pinata Cupcake Pan’! It was so much fun getting to work together and bring the idea to life. The look on everyone’s faces was well worth the embarrassment of walking around as a Pinata! I’m excited about next year’s challenge and, who knows, maybe it will be another costume inspired by a great product!” exclaimed Katelynn.

We must admit that this costume was pretty sweet! Congratulations Lara, Laurie Ann and Katelynn for a job well done!

Pinata Pan - QVC Best Seller

Just a few weeks ago, we wanted to throw a small fiesta when we saw another product that our friends at Inventionland designed, the Piñata Nonstick Cupcake Pan, on QVC’s “Kitchen Unlimited with Carolyn.”

The pan, which also sells as the Mrs. Fields Bake N Stuff Cupcake Pan, debuted as the first item on the show and it is now listed as one of QVC’s Best Sellers!

Of course, it was exciting to see this product live on QVC, but nothing takes the candy-stuffed cupcake like hearing great feedback from our current and potential clients after it has stuffed them with inspiration!

After the segment had aired as the very first product on “In the Kitchen with Carolyn,” some of our clients reached out to us to keep their invention ideas moving forward, while others realized a newfound belief in their own new product ideas. Not to mention, some of our clients even purchased the Piñata Nonstick Cupcake Pan from QVC to give this innovative product a try!

Here are two things that we’ve learned from our most recent air-time on QVC:

Keep it going

After seeing this product on QVC, several of our clients were inspired to get their ideas going again. Sometimes, all that it takes is to see another situation that is reminiscent of yours yield positive results to restore your innovative spirit to keep chasing your invention dreams.

Believe in your idea

It’s no secret that sometimes it can be hard to keep your spirits alive if you don’t whole-heartedly believe in your idea. After seeing this particular QVC segment, and having the Piñata Nonstick Cupcake Pan air as the very first product on the show, clients have said that they feel more strongly and confidently about the fact that they too could one day take a bite of their own success.

Feeling inspired? Submit your invention idea, today!

QVC - Pinata Pan

In perfect “Throwback Thursday” fashion, we’d like to throw it back to yesterday afternoon, when the Mrs. Fields Bake N Stuff Cupcake Pan was featured on QVC!

You’ve previously been introduced to the Mrs. Fields Bake N Stuff Cupcake Pan, a product that our friends over at Inventionland designed for the Love Cooking Company.

Well yesterday, this innovative baking product premiered on QVC and was repackaged as the Piñata Nonstick Cupcake Pan.

Let’s just say, it made quite the first impression!

In fact, the Piñata Nonstick Cupcake Pan was the very first product that was showcased on the “Kitchen Unlimited with Carolyn” show.

At the top of the show, host Carolyn Gracie and QVC kitchen product specialist Marie Louise Ludwig served up “a new twist on a cupcake pan.”

QVC - Pinata pan

Of course, the “new twist” that they were talking about is the Piñata Nonstick Cupcake Pan!

With various kinds of candy and icing inside, the baking-duo perfectly paired the Piñata Nonstick Cupcake Pan as a product that’s perfect for both men and women in the kitchen who are trying to impress their kids or grandkids or to even cater to various tastes at school functions.

Ludwig even noted that the pan would be perfect for the popular gender-reveal baby showers!

“It takes basic cupcakes and turns them into something phenomenal,” said Ludwig, adding that the pan was also incredibly easy to use. “Basically, the pan does all the work for you,” said Ludwig.

If you missed seeing the Piñata Nonstick Cupcake Pan on QVC yesterday, don’t worry, you can watch it here now!
