{"id":12553,"date":"2013-02-06T14:25:54","date_gmt":"2013-02-06T18:25:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/devwp.davison.com\/blog\/?p=12553"},"modified":"2017-08-21T13:30:05","modified_gmt":"2017-08-21T17:30:05","slug":"mr-davison-takes-pittsburghs-kdka-on-a-sweet-inventionland-tour","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.davison.com\/blog\/mr-davison-takes-pittsburghs-kdka-on-a-sweet-inventionland-tour\/","title":{"rendered":"Mr. Davison Takes Pittsburgh&#8217;s KDKA on a &#8220;Sweet&#8221; Inventionland Tour"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script type='text\/javascript' src='http:\/\/CBSPIT.images.worldnow.com\/interface\/js\/WNVideo.js?rnd=839546;hostDomain=video.pittsburgh.cbslocal.com;playerWidth=430;playerHeight=255;isShowIcon=true;clipId=8270192;flvUri=;partnerclipid=;adTag=Community;advertisingZone=CBS.PITTS%252Fworldnowplayer;enableAds=true;landingPage=;islandingPageoverride=false;playerType=STANDARD_EMBEDDEDscript_EMBEDDEDscript;controlsType=fixed'><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Recently, KDKA\u2019s Kristine Sorensen got a sweet taste of our creative workspace, in preparation for next Thursday\u2019s Children\u2019s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation \u201cA Sweet Gesture\u201d fundraising event.<\/p>\n<p>Sorensen&#8217;s tour aired during the CBS affiliate&#8217;s newscast last week and featured several sweet details not only about Inventionland, but also how the Foundation co-chairs asked Mr. Davison to host the Valentine&#8217;s Day event.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-12554 photo\" title=\"Sweet-Gestures-1\" src=\"https:\/\/www.davison.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Sweet-Gestures-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"232\" height=\"291\" \/>He explains how event organizers made up a chocolate prototype to ask him to host the Willy Wonka-themed evening.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>&#8220;How do you turn down a request like that?&#8221;<\/em><\/strong> Mr. Davison asks.<\/p>\n<p>Walking Sorensen through Inventionland&#8217;s secret bookcase-entrance, which will lead party-goers to the charity event, Mr. Davison explains how Inventionland is a creative mind-set that is meant to inspire inventors.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>&#8220;This is the creative space that we dream everything up in,&#8221;<\/strong><\/em> says Mr. Davison.<\/p>\n<p>Sorensen was quick to notice that the fantasy-like environment was much more than just a Disney-esque theme park.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>&#8220;There&#8217;s a surprise at every turn&#8230; they&#8217;re creating, problem-solving, inventing &#8211; and, it&#8217;s working, based on the array of products floating through the building that are samples of real success stories,&#8221;<\/em><\/strong> says Sorensen.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-12567 photo\" style=\"margin-right: 10px;\" title=\"Sweet-Gestures-2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.davison.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Sweet-Gestures-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"187\" height=\"145\" \/>After Sorensen interviews Mr. Davison, she speaks with the &#8220;Sweet Gesture&#8221; co-chairs, Tori Yoos and Laura Mabon, who explain how they plan to utilize the magnificent facility.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>&#8220;The entire night is full of many surprises&#8230;&#8221;<\/strong><\/em> says Yoos. \u00a0<em><strong>&#8220;Everything you can imagine will be here: \u00a0food, music, drinks&#8230; activities&#8230; a fun, fun night.&#8221;<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>All proceeds from &#8220;A Sweet Gesture&#8221; benefit Children&#8217;s Hospital&#8217;s Family Life Fund.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recently, KDKA\u2019s Kristine Sorensen got a sweet taste of our creative workspace, in preparation for next Thursday\u2019s Children\u2019s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation \u201cA Sweet Gesture\u201d fundraising event.
