The Water Infuser and Packet Rack, both of which came out of a brainstorming meeting with Jokari in early 2009, are being tested in select Bed, Bath &amp; Beyond stores! \u201cWe did it all \u2013 the design work, the engineering \u2013 start to finish,&#8221; said Davison&#8217;s VP of Licensing. &#8220;They turned out nice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0creative coach of special operations and his team brainstormed the design of both products. The\u00a0coach designed the Water Infuser, a \u201cspotlight\u201d item in Jokari\u2019s \u201chealthy steps\u201d line. It\u00a0is the first product in stores from the wellness line that we are developing for the company.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1635\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.davison.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/Jokari_Water_Infuser_Package-99x150.jpg\" alt=\"Davison inventions\" width=\"99\" height=\"150\" \/>The Water Infuser&#8217;s\u00a0hinged sphere opens so it can hold pieces of fruit, vegetables and herbs, such as lemon, cucumber, strawberries or mint. The sphere is then placed in a pitcher and, through small slits in the plastic, the water or tea is infused with natural flavors, offering a healthy and inexpensive alternative to sodas, sugary fruit drinks and bottled water.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey made a few changes at the factory, but for the most part it looks the same,\u201d said the designer.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1636\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.davison.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/packet_pal_Large-300x231.jpg\" alt=\"Davison home product\" width=\"300\" height=\"231\" \/>The Packet Rack, which is also on Jokari.com, is the result of the company&#8217;s challenge to find a solution to the problem of neatly storing multiple packets of seasoning and mixes. During the brainstorming session, one member of the team\u00a0\u201chad a moment of genius,\u201d said his manager,\u00a0and came up with the idea of pinching packets in a spring.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEveryone kind of looked at me,\u201d said the designer,\u00a0who then proved his concept with a spring from the build line. \u201cI got a few laughs \u2026 until I showed them. This is one of those things where you take an everyday item and design it for a different use.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1634\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.davison.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/Jokari_PacketRack_inuse-135x150.jpg\" alt=\"new Davison invention\" width=\"135\" height=\"150\" \/>Jokari \u201creally liked the idea,\u201d and the product evolved into\u00a0a row of small springs on a base that mounts to the inside of a cabinet. To use, simply press upward on the spring, insert the top of a packet into the opening, then let go and the packet is secured.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe showed it to them and they only came back with a couple of tweaks,&#8221; said the corporate design manager, who is, once again, very pleased with the performance of his team.<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to everyone who worked on these great new products!
