Davison in his grandfather&#8217;s basement. Today it is a cutting-edge 110,000-square foot product design and development factory.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Services includes research, industrial design, virtual reality, product samples, packaging, presentation, video, animation and royalty management.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Davison-developed products have been sold in Home Depot, Target, JC Penny, Linens &#8216;n Things, Sears, Dick&#8217;s Sporting Goods, AutoZone, The Sports Authority, FAO Schwarz, Modell&#8217;s and Dunham Sports.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Davison submitted six designs for judging and won two awards \u0097 a silver in concept design for the Hover Creeper and a bronze for The BikeBoard. In 1997, Davison earned a bronze for the Oil Filter Gripper.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Winners will be honored at a black tie ceremony at the Hilton Austin in Austin, Texas, Wednesday, Sept. 20. A &#8220;People&#8217;s Choice&#8221; award will also be presented at this time, during the 2006 IDSA National Conference and Education Symposium.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>In its 26th year, the 2006 Industrial Design Excellence Award (IDEA) competition is co-sponsored by BusinessWeek magazine and the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Categories include, among others, consumer electronics, housewares, transportation, sporting goods, furniture and medical and scientific equipment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Last year&#8217;s winners included Motorola for its Razr, Apple&#8217;s iPod Shuffle, Microsoft, Nike, Sony and more.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>In the more than 1,000 entries received, 28 countries were represented this year, including: Australia, Austria, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Korea, The Netherlands, Portugal, Singapore, Sweden, Taiwan, Turkey and the United Kingdom.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Eighteen IDEA jurors awarded 27 gold, 39 silver and 42 bronze awards &#8211; the lowest awarded in five years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>All 106 winners are featured on IDSA&#8217;s Web site (www.idsa.org) with photos, descriptions and contacts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<br><strong>Davison News &amp; Media Contact:<\/strong><br><a href=\"http:\/\/www.davison.com\/contact.html\">Contact us online<\/a><br>or call 1-800-544-3327 or 412-967-0124 for those outside the U.S<br><br>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Davison Design and Development started in 1989 by G.M.
