The wife, mother and entrepreneur learned her invention was already\u00a0selling in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.skymall.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sky Mall<\/a> and saw the packaged product for the first time during a visit to Inventionland, where her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.davison.com\/products\/pet\/cool-cot-house\/\">Cool Cot House <\/a>was developed.<br \/>\n\u201cThat blew me away,\u201d said Sharon. \u201cIt was way better than my original idea!\u201d She got an even bigger surprise when George Davison, founder and CEO, presented her with\u00a0her first royalty check. \u201cI cried,\u201d she recalled. \u201cI couldn\u2019t believe all the zeros at the end!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After five years of work, her dream had become a reality and success had come to her family, which had been struggling through some hard times and stressing about how they were going to finance a move to another town.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.davison.com\/products\/product_macecoolcot.html\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"noborder\" src=\"\/images\/products\/prod_macecoolcot.jpg\" alt=\"Davison Cool Cot Invention\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" align=\"right\" \/><\/a>\u201cIt\u2019s been a long time coming, and I\u2019m so excited and thrilled that it made it somewhere,\u201d Sharon told the team that developed her product. \u201cAnd it couldn\u2019t have happened without you guys; I\u2019m so grateful.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Inventor\u2019s Story:<\/strong><br \/>\nSharon came up with her idea because she wanted a comfortable, convenient <a href=\"\/products\/product_macecoolcot.html\">shelter for her pets<\/a> to use on camping trips or at home. One day in Walmart, she noticed a small demonstration tent and thought that a real tent about that size would be perfect. She found Davison, a new product development firm that provides services to inventors, corporations and entrepreneurs. She submitted her idea online and the team went to work.<\/p>\n<p>The finished product, which was licensed by Hugs\u00a0Pet Products, features a water-resistant tent with vented roof, raised bed and mesh cot designed to keep dogs and cats cool and dry, even on the hottest or wettest of days. The portable, sturdy and easy to clean unit also offers a convenient alternative to traditional dog houses.<\/p>\n<p>Sharon was not only thrilled with the finished product and royalty check, but by the royal treatment she and her son, Anthony, received at Davison.
